Jade is now very very comfortable in the office. She says hi to everyone that comes in and isn't scared and doesn't run away anymore! She started warming up to women pretty quickly but stayed weary of men for quite a bit longer. She is just now starting to not be afraid of men. Jade has also learned quite a few tricks including sit, down, go to your bed, shake, sit pretty, leave it and stay. She is so smart I can't believe how quickly she learns, its really remarkable.
I found the first few weeks with Jade difficult at times because of course I loved her from the moment I saw her but she needed time to love me. Every day I saw her slowly warm up to me a little bit more but there was no apparent will on her part to be overly close to me. I would go in to different rooms in the house and she would just stay where she was. She didn't want to sleep in the bedroom with me and she was overly affectionate. Finally at about week three it was like she just decided that I had done my time and she loved me and trusted me. She now just can't get enough love and follows me everywhere. After daycare or if she stays at home when I am at work she now gets SO excited to see me! Even when I am doing my hair in the washroom she will lay on the mat beside me and hang out. It felt so amazing to finally feel like she loved me as much as I loved her.

I have also learned that Jade loves the water!!! She is an absolute fish. Anytime we are remotely near the water she does everything in her power to get into it. We also went up to the cabin and Jade experienced her first boat ride! She wouldn't get in the boat at first and we actually had to lift her in. Once she was in she sat there shaking and crying. I moved up to the front of the boat with her where she could see out and instantly she was loving it! She now jumps up into the boat and sits down eagerly ready to go! She also goes in the canoe and on the front of the wind surfing board which i sit on and paddle around the lake. Jade like to put her feet in the water and paddle with me :)

The one aspect that I still have a lot of work to do in is Jade's recall. She is very very independent and can not be completely trusted off leash yet. She doesn't wander off but isn't so great at coming when called when she doesn't feel like it. With that you are pretty much up to date with Jade and I! I will update more soon.
